Lotty Learns Privacy Policy
Your privacy, and your child's privacy, matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the specific steps we take to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), since our service is used by children.
This policy applies to our website, https://lottylearns.com, and the Phonics Factory membership service.
This policy is effective as of August 4, 2026.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Lotty Learns is a service intended for children to use, purchased and administered by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 that identifies them individually, except where a parent or guardian voluntarily submits their child's information through our optional content submission features, described below, with signed consent. The technical and analytics data described below (such as general site usage and log data) is used only for internal purposes, such as understanding overall site usage and keeping the service secure. We separately disclose below our limited use of an advertising tracking tool, which is scoped to a single page a parent sees after checkout and is never present on any page a child would use.
All account registration, checkout, and billing information is entered by the parent or guardian, not the child.
We do not collect names, emails, photos, voice recordings, or any other personal identifiers from children using the interactive tools.
We do not track what a child does within the interactive tools themselves, such as which words, letters, or answers they select.
We do not use behavioral tracking, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools anywhere on the interactive learning tools or the main site that a child would use.
Any account-level usage or analytics data we collect reflects general site and page usage, not a child's specific in-tool activity.
We use a limited advertising tracking tool (the Meta Pixel) only on the order confirmation page a parent sees immediately after completing a purchase, solely to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. It is not present anywhere else on the site, including the interactive learning tools. See "Third Parties We Use" below for more detail.
With signed parental consent, a parent or guardian may voluntarily submit their child's photo, artwork, story, or video through our optional Letters to Lotty, Story Contest, or Proud Moments features. See "Optional Content Submissions" below for details.
If we ever learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child in a manner inconsistent with this policy, we will delete it promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about your child's use of our service, contact us through our contact page: https://lottylearns.com/contact.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us (Parent/Guardian)
When you register for an account or purchase a subscription, we collect:
Name (the account holder's name, entered by the parent or guardian at signup)
Email address
Billing address (if applicable)
Payment information (processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not store your full card details on our own servers)
Signing In with Google
As an alternative to creating an account with an email address, we offer the option to sign in using your Google account. This is optional, not required, and is intended for the parent or guardian creating the account. If you choose this option, we receive your name and email address from your Google account. We do not access any other Google account data. If you prefer not to use Google Sign-In, you can create an account with your email address instead.
Optional Content Submissions (Letters to Lotty, Story Contest, Proud Moments)
We offer optional features where a parent or guardian can choose to submit their child's content to us, including letters or drawings ("Letters to Lotty"), original stories ("Story Contest"), or short videos of a child using our tools ("Proud Moments"). Participation in these features is entirely optional and is initiated by the parent or guardian, not solicited from the child directly through our site.
To participate, a parent emails the submitted materials (which may include a child's photo, artwork, handwriting, voice, or video) along with a signed consent form to hello@lottylearns.com. The consent form requires a parent or guardian to confirm their authority to consent on the child's behalf, and specifies how the materials may be used, including on our website, social media, YouTube channel, promotional materials, and inside the members-only area.
With parental consent, a child's first name and age may be used publicly in connection with their submission. We do not publicly share a child's last name or other identifying personal information. A parent may choose whether their child's face appears in any submitted video.
Consent given through this process remains in effect until revoked in writing; revocation applies only to future use and does not affect content already produced, published, or distributed.
Log Data
Like most websites, our hosting platform (Squarespace) and analytics tools automatically record standard technical data when a page is visited, including IP address, the page visited, and the date and time. This applies to all pages, including the interactive learning tools. This data reflects that a page was visited, not what was done on the page.
Advertising Conversion Tracking
We run advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) to promote our service. To measure how effective that advertising is, we use the Meta Pixel, but only on the order confirmation ("thank you") page that a parent sees immediately after completing a purchase. The Meta Pixel is not present anywhere else on our site, including our homepage, marketing pages, or the interactive learning tools themselves.
The Meta Pixel on this page allows Meta to associate a completed purchase with the ad that led to it, which helps us understand which advertising is working. We do not use the Meta Pixel to build advertising profiles of site visitors generally, and it is not present on any page a child would use.
Automatically Collected Information
We use MemberSpace to manage memberships. For each customer account, MemberSpace records which pages of the site were accessed, along with the date, time, and approximate city/state. This data is tied to the parent/account holder, not to a child's individual activity within the learning tools.
We use Google Analytics to understand general, aggregate usage of our site. We have Google Signals turned off, meaning our Analytics data is not linked to or used for personalized advertising through Google's ad products.
We use cookies for basic site functionality. See our Cookie Policy for details.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not solicit or collect names, birthdates, photos, or voice/video recordings from children through the interactive learning tools. The only exception is our optional Letters to Lotty, Story Contest, and Proud Moments features, which a parent or guardian may choose to participate in with signed consent. See "Optional Content Submissions" above for details.
We do not use session recording or heatmap tools anywhere on the site.
We do not use advertising trackers or behavioral ad targeting on any page a child would use, including the interactive learning tools or the main marketing pages of the site. Our limited use of an advertising tracking tool is described below under "Advertising Conversion Tracking" and "Third Parties We Use."
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
Provide and maintain your account and subscription
Process payments (via Stripe)
Communicate with you about your account, billing, or service updates

Data Security
We take reasonable, commercially acceptable steps to protect the information we collect. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password secure.
How Long We Keep Information
We do not have an automated process for deleting account information after cancellation. If you cancel your subscription, your account and usage history may remain in our systems (including MemberSpace and Stripe) indefinitely, in the same way as any active account.
If you contact us and specifically request it, we can remove your account from MemberSpace. Billing and transaction records are retained by Stripe as part of their own systems and retention practices, including requirements Stripe has under financial recordkeeping and anti-fraud laws. We do not have the ability to fully remove historical payment records from Stripe on your behalf. If you would like to make a request directly to Stripe regarding your payment data, you can contact Stripe directly.
Your Rights
You may contact us at any time to:
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request that your account be removed from MemberSpace
Opt out of marketing communications
Please note that removing your account from MemberSpace does not delete historical billing or transaction records held by Stripe. See "How Long We Keep Information" above for more detail.
If you live in a state with an applicable consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask about deletion of your information, contact us using the details below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the "last updated" date above.
