How to use the Phonics Trainer:

*Ensure your device's sound is turned on.

Try Reading First: Encourage your child to look at the word on the screen and try reading it aloud. If they’re unsure, guide them to use the tool to help sound it out.

Explore Sounds: Have your child click or tap on the letters to hear each sound and repeat what they hear to build phonics skills.

Use the Slider to Blend: Move the slider from left to right with your finger to help blend the sounds together. As your child slides, they should say each sound out loud in order. The slider does not play audio. It guides blending by showing dots for single sounds and lines for digraphs (like sh or ch).

Blend Faster: After sounding it out slowly, encourage your child to slide again and say the sounds a little faster until they can say the whole word smoothly.

Hear the Word: Click the speaker icon to hear the whole word. This helps your child check if they blended the sounds correctly.

Next Word: Use the arrow buttons on either side to move to the next or previous word.

Explore New Patterns: To switch word categories, click the letter or letters in the bottom right corner to open a menu. Pick a new category to display words that follow that pattern.
